Head Coach Kristian Skou
Kristian Skou was born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark where he started playing hockey at the age of 5. Kristian’s hockey career has taken him many places, and some of his accomplishments include:
- 2011 – Named Head Coach for Mississippi Ice Rebels
- 2010 – Goalie/Interim Head Coach for Mississippi Ice Rebels
- 2009-10 – Goalie/Asst Coach for Mississippi Ice Rebels
- 2001-03 – Goalie for the Tupelo T-Rex Jr. A (AWHL) Tupelo, MS
- 2000-02 – Selected for the U20 Danish National Team
- 2000 – Won the CSHL with the Columbus Crush
- 1999-2000 – Played in Junior B National Championships with the Columbus Crush
- 1999-2001 – Goalie for Columbus Crush Jr. B (CSHL) Columbus, OH
- 1998-2000 – Selected for the U18 Danish National Team
- 1998-99 – Played in the World Junior Championships for Danish National Team
In 2004 Kristian retired from hockey and settled down in Tupelo, MS. While in Tupelo Kristian helped coach gymnastics from 2001 – 2005 helping coach several members of the National TOPs gymnastics team; including the number one 7 year-old gymnast in the U.S. in 2003.
In 2009 after 5 years away from hockey, Kristian helped Cody Johnson and Colin Knight start the Ole Miss Ice Hockey program where he served as goalie/assistant coach for the Rebels Inaugural Season as well as the Vice President on the board of directors. At the start of the 2010 season Kristian stepped down from the assistant coach position to concentrate on playing goal, but was asked to take over as the Interim Head Coach in January of 2011 to finish out the rest of the season.
